Colorful Mark Harvest Flower Festival Draws Crowds to Village Church

In a vibrant celebration of nature’s beauty, Mark Church, located near Burnham-On-Sea, welcomed over 250 visitors during its three-day Harvest Flower Festival held from October 13th to 15th. The event featured an array of stunning floral displays that captured the imagination of all who attended.

Heather Popham, the deputy churchwarden, expressed her delight, stating, “We had a really good, busy weekend with over 250 people enjoying the displays.” She extended her gratitude to those who meticulously arranged the exquisite flower displays and provided support through generous donations and sponsorships.

The festival was made even more enchanting by the dedicated flower arrangers who poured their creativity into the event. Among those who contributed their artistic touch were Bouquet Florist Cheddar (Carol and Claire Wilcox), Maggie Borham, Janet Buncombe, Burnham Flower Club (Sally & Joy), Margaret Cavill, Lynne Duckett, Carol Gibson, Sue Gilmour, Liz Hall, Olive Holdom, Annie Locke, Jane Mason, Heather Popham, Judy Puddy, Liz Puddy, Laura Smith, Nicky Sucksmith, Jenny Thomas, Joan Thompson, Karen Tolfree, Jane Watts, and Sue Willment.

In addition to the captivating floral displays, festival-goers were treated to an exhibition of artwork by Mark School pupils, enchanting tours of the tower and bell chamber, soul-soothing organ music performed by Nigel Parkin, and a heartfelt harvest service. The Mark Harvest Flower Festival proved to be a delightful and enchanting experience, uniting the community in celebration of nature’s beauty.
