Katara Exhibition “Flowers of My Country” Unveils Qatar’s Floral Beauty

Doha, Qatar: Katara, the Cultural Village Foundation, inaugurated the “Flowers of My Country” exhibition, a captivating display of artworks by Dania Tariq, an artist with hearing impairment. The exhibition, located at building 18 of Katara, features 29 artworks showcasing the diverse flowers found in the natural habitat of Qatar. Open until January 3, the event was attended by ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, art enthusiasts, and media professionals.

Dania Tariq’s art focuses on the flowers native to Qatar, drawing inspiration from the Qatari environment, the Qatar National Vision 2030, and the objectives of the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha Qatar. Dr. Hala Al Saeed, Dania’s mother, highlighted the psychological aspect of the artist’s work, emphasizing that Dania successfully expresses her feelings and love for flowers through her vibrant and expressive paintings.

Despite facing hearing impairment, Dania’s art captures the essence of joy, happiness, and love for life. Her use of bright colors and various techniques adds movement, flow, freedom, and optimism to her paintings. Dr. Al Saeed noted that Dania’s ability to convey her emotions through art has made her a successful artist, participating in exhibitions both locally and internationally.

Dania’s artistic journey began at the age of three, and her mother played a crucial role in nurturing her artistic talent. The exhibition “Flowers of My Country” serves as a testament to Dania’s perseverance and determination to overcome challenges associated with disability, showcasing that art can transcend barriers and communicate universal emotions.
