LOVES PARK, Ill. – In a display of community support, scores of patrons converged at the traditional Rosecrance Flower Day fundraiser, extending their aid to those navigating personal journeys.
This year’s Flower Day extravaganza unfolded across both Gensler Gardens outlets, situated at 8631 11th St., New Milford, and 102 Orth Road, Loves Park. From the crack of dawn until dusk on May 9, enthusiasts seized the opportunity as 50% of all floral proceeds directly contributed to bolstering behavioral health treatment services at Rosecrance.
For decades, Rosecrance has orchestrated fundraising endeavors to furnish aid for individuals striving towards sobriety, employing the simple yet powerful vehicle of flower sales on the Thursday preceding Mother’s Day. Commencing modestly with a quaint flower stall nestled in the confines of the former Rosecrance adolescent treatment campus on Alpine Road, the initiative burgeoned over time, relocating to the sprawling expanse of the Edgebrook shopping center’s parking lot.
Reflecting on the event’s enduring impact, Jerry Paris, a stalwart employee of Rosecrance, remarked, “It’s overwhelming, I’ve been doing this for 30 years. But lots of people come in and buy flowers today, and they wait for today to buy them knowing that Rosecrance gets benefited from it.”
Paris further elucidated that the annual floral affair routinely garners substantial monetary contributions, thus fortifying Rosecrance’s steadfast commitment to extending a helping hand to those in need.
Individuals seeking solace and mental health support are encouraged to peruse the Rosecrance website for comprehensive resources and assistance.
