In an annual tradition spanning 15 years, the Kiwanis Club of Bloomington is once again offering an opportunity for community members to purchase flowers for Mother’s Day while contributing to a noble cause. Located at the Shoppes at College Hills in Normal, the flower sale aims to raise funds to send children to summer camp.
The event, spearheaded by co-chair Reid Butts, offers a diverse selection of floral arrangements and plants, with prices ranging from $2 to $40. Butts expressed the club’s dedication to maximizing proceeds for the benefit of children, stating, “We want to raise as much money as possible for the kids.”
Attendees can choose from an array of options, including various tomato plant types, lemon grass, geraniums, hanging baskets, ferns, and copas, among others.
The proceeds from the sale significantly contribute to sending approximately 20 children to Camp Limberlost at Lake Bloomington each year. This initiative not only brings joy to mothers on their special day but also provides invaluable experiences for children during the summer months.
The flower sale is set to continue on Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering ample opportunity for community members to support the cause and brighten their loved ones’ days with beautiful blooms.
