SYRACUSE, N.Y. — In preparation for the vibrant embrace of summer, the Downtown Committee of Syracuse is set to commence the installation of over 300 hanging flower baskets throughout the heart of the city, starting Tuesday, May 28.
This cherished annual tradition, which took root in 2011 through a collaborative effort between the Downtown Committee of Syracuse and the Cathedral Square Neighborhood Association, has since flourished. Over the years, the initiative has expanded its reach, now adorning key neighborhoods such as Armory Square, Clinton Square, Hanover Square, and the Heart of Downtown.
The deployment of these floral displays is emblematic of the committee’s commitment to enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the downtown area, forming an integral component of its broader beautification endeavors.
Speaking on behalf of the organizing committee, it was revealed that the program’s financial backing is buoyed by the generous support of nearly 50 downtown sponsors, underscoring the collective investment in cultivating a vibrant and inviting urban landscape.
