SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) – The Spencer Hospital Regional Healthcare Foundation held its annual Garden of Life Planting event on Wednesday evening.
The event featured flowers planted in honor of past loved ones and cherished caregivers, with donations made to the foundation to support various healthcare causes.
A short ceremony preceded the planting, dedicating the day and the flowers that will be enjoyed throughout the season.
“We really want to honor our donors’ wishes,” said Sara Taylor, Executive Director of the Spencer Regional Healthcare Foundation. “If you want to support the Abben Cancer Center, hospice, or medical-surgical units, we ensure that your funds are used accordingly. Each flower represents someone very special, and those gifts, in turn, help another patient or family.”
Volunteers enjoyed the evening’s beautiful weather, spending quality time with friends and family.
“We had a great turnout tonight with quite a few hospice and home health staff, our marketing department, friends, family, and some of our donors,” Taylor explained. “It was wonderful to see many children involved, as we like to educate them about what we do too.”
