In a bid to enhance the floral beauty of Ulaanbaatar, plans are underway to plant an impressive 1.5 million flowers across the city throughout 2024. These vibrant blooms, spanning 15 diverse species, are set to grace 99 carefully selected locations across nine districts within the capital.
Efforts to transform the cityscape have already commenced, with over 150,000 flowers already adorning various areas. Presently, the progress stands at 30 percent completion, with a targeted completion date set for June 10th, 2024.
This ambitious endeavor follows the successful planting of nearly 1.2 million flowers in Ulaanbaatar last year. Spearheaded by the office of the Governor of the capital, the initiative receives collaborative support from 25 enterprises, ensuring the ongoing maintenance of these green structures.
The mass planting of flowers not only aims to elevate the aesthetic appeal of Ulaanbaatar but also underscores the city’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. With meticulous planning and concerted efforts, Ulaanbaatar is poised to blossom into a floral oasis, enriching the lives of residents and visitors alike.
