Many gardeners are currently enjoying the vibrant blooms of their rose gardens, but there’s an easy way to enhance these displays even further.
Jocelyn, a passionate gardener and founder of The Reading Residence, recently discovered that feeding roses with banana peels can significantly boost their growth and bloom quality.
“I found out that using banana skins encourages bigger, better blooms,” she shared. “The potassium in the soil benefits them greatly. Given how many bananas my kids eat, I always have plenty of banana skins on hand!”
While it might sound unconventional, incorporating banana peels into the soil around roses during the summer releases potassium, which plays a crucial role in regulating water and nutrient transport within the plant. This simple addition can lead to more abundant and healthier flowers.
