Scheduled for July 9 and 10, judges will be taken on a guided tour of Chase’s picturesque displays, spanning both residential gardens and local businesses. The community has eagerly embraced this opportunity to highlight its floral artistry, marking its debut in the prestigious competition.

This year’s theme for Communities in Bloom is centered around the color orange, as announced during a symposium in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo, Alta., on National Truth and Reconciliation Day. Kendrick Cardinal, councillor of the regional municipality of Wood Buffalo, emphasized that orange symbolizes the commitment to building meaningful relationships.

In addition to vibrant blooms, Chase’s participants have incorporated upcycling into their displays, creatively utilizing items such as wagons, ladders, and washing tubs to adorn their gardens. Councilor Jane Herman expressed enthusiasm about how this event has fostered community spirit while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of local yards and streets.

Details regarding public access to the judging tour stops will be released soon, welcoming all to admire Chase’s efforts in the Communities in Bloom competition.
