Katy Quinn, describing herself as a creative spirit, fulfilled a long-held ambition earlier this year by launching ‘Cheshire Paper Flowers’.
Recognizing the global popularity of paper flowers and their environmental benefits, Katy saw an opportunity to carve out a niche. Her creations, characterized by their size, vibrant colors, and bespoke designs, have resonated deeply with clients seeking sustainable alternatives to traditional flower and balloon arrangements.
Over the past few months, Katy, a mother of three, has steadily grown her business. She has delighted clients with her offerings at weddings and special events, as well as captivated attendees at regional markets and festivals like Stockton Heath Festival with the sheer craftsmanship of her floral displays.
The momentum continued when Katy’s handmade flowers adorned the window display of a bridal shop in Newton-le-Willows. Following her participation in a ‘Women in Business’ networking event, Katy secured additional growth opportunities for her venture.
In an exciting development, Katy has teamed up with Altrincham Business Improvement District (BID) and the Royal Horticultural Society. Starting next week, Altrincham’s high street will showcase 40 of Katy’s floral installations as part of a ‘Petal Pathway’ initiative aimed at revitalizing local shopping areas.
Reflecting on her journey, Katy, aged 52, remarked, “I’ve always had a passion for creativity and seeing my work displayed in shop windows. After leaving my previous job, I wanted to pursue something meaningful while supporting my family. The ‘Petal Pathway’ is an incredible opportunity to draw people back to the high street and propel my business forward. It’s amazing to think that just seven months ago, I hadn’t created any of these flowers!”
Katy’s story exemplifies entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, underscored by her dedication to sustainability and community engagement through art.
