MANILA, Philippines — The eagerly anticipated Philippine International Flower Festival (PHILIFF) is slated to debut at One Ayala, Makati this coming September, marking a significant milestone for the nation’s floral industry.
Scheduled from September 19 to 22, PHILIFF promises a captivating showcase of floral artistry, garden landscaping, and specialized exhibits featuring Ikebana, Bonsai, and orchids. Highlighting the event will be a trade show and a floral fashion extravaganza curated by renowned Filipino-Chinese event organizer Jerry Sibal, in collaboration with international artists.
Sibal, acclaimed for his expertise showcased in the coffee table book “An Event to Remember,” expressed his aspiration to elevate the stature of Filipino farmers. “I want to bring dignity to our farmers. Let us be united in helping the farmers grow our economy as well,” Sibal emphasized.
Beyond its cultural and artistic dimensions, PHILIFF aims to position the Philippines as a key player in the Asia-Pacific region’s floral production landscape. The festival is set to serve as a pivotal platform for local horticulturists and florists to network, sustain, and expand their economic horizons.
Moreover, PHILIFF aims to catalyze the growth of a robust global flower export industry by attracting domestic and foreign investments in Philippine agriculture. The event will explore cutting-edge advancements in floriculture and horticulture technology, while also unveiling new tourism destinations and business opportunities aimed at community development.
Central to its mission, PHILIFF is committed to fostering sustainable livelihoods for farmers and growers, as well as offering educational avenues for skill development within the industry.
With its comprehensive agenda encompassing economic growth, cultural celebration, and community empowerment, the inaugural Philippine International Flower Festival is poised to make a significant impact on both local and international stages.
