Belvoir Castle is gearing up for its seventh annual Flower and Garden Show, set to take place this weekend in the picturesque gardens of the historic estate. The event will be held in the castle’s parkland, which was originally designed by the renowned 18th-century landscape architect Capability Brown.
The show will feature a lineup of prominent horticultural and floral experts, including David Domoney and Jonathan Moseley, who will deliver special guest talks aimed at providing visitors with valuable gardening insights and tips. Domoney, a Chartered Horticulturist and well-known television presenter on ITV’s “Love Your Garden” and “Garden Club,” as well as the resident gardening expert on “This Morning,” expressed his enthusiasm for the event.
“It’s always a wonderful experience meeting people who want to learn more about plants and flowers and being able to share some top tips to help them on their horticultural journey,” Domoney said.
Jonathan Moseley, an internationally celebrated floral designer with over 30 years of experience, will also be sharing his expertise. Moseley, who has served as a floral expert on BBC’s “The Big Allotment Challenge,” is recognized for his work as a writer, broadcaster, and demonstrator. He highlighted the importance of fostering creativity with homegrown flowers and foliage.
“It’s important to encourage people to get creative with home-grown flowers and foliage, giving them the confidence to try things out for themselves. This upcoming event is going to be a fantastic opportunity to do just that,” Moseley commented.
In addition to these guest speakers, top garden designers will showcase their talents through the event’s exquisite Show Borders. Belvoir Castle’s head gardener, Andy Tudbury, will also be in attendance to offer his expert advice and share his experiences in maintaining the castle’s renowned gardens.
“The Flower and Garden Show at Belvoir Castle is a highlight of the year for me,” Tudbury remarked. “It’s so lovely watching our visitors learn even more about the horticultural world and leave the event feeling inspired and full of wonderful ideas to try in their own garden.”
For those interested in exploring more of Belvoir’s scenic landscape, guided tours will be available, offering visitors a rare glimpse into areas of the Capability Brown-designed parkland that are typically off-limits, including the estate’s vineyard.
Throughout the event, attendees can enjoy refreshments at the castle’s various eateries, including Belvoir Bistro, Belvoir Farm Shop, and the Aviary Café, where homemade cakes, afternoon teas, and snacks will be served against the stunning backdrop of the Regency castle.
For those looking to take home a memento, a variety of stalls will offer unique items for sale.
Tickets for the Flower and Garden Show are available in two options: one that includes access to the castle, gardens, and adventure playground, and another that covers entry to the gardens and playground only. Advance purchase tickets, which come with a 10 percent discount, are priced at £23.40 for adults, £9 for children aged 3-16, and £54 for a family ticket (two adults and three children) for the full access option.
