Drawing in an impressive attendance, the picturesque garden has welcomed a hundred thousand visitors, Minister Puri stated.
“‘Gar firdaus bar-rue zamin ast.’ With this couplet by poet Amir Khusro, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri celebrated the enchanting paradise of tulips in Srinagar as it secures a spot in the World Book of Records as Asia’s largest. Spanning 30 hectares between the Dal Lake and Zabarwan hills, the tulip garden forms a captivating landscape.
Beyond the captivating tulip display, the garden—formerly known as Siraj Bagh—features an array of spring blossoms, including hyacinths, daffodils, muscari, and cyclamens.
Srinagar Tourism reports that the park, inaugurated in 2007, was designed to bolster floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley. Its terraced layout, comprising seven terraces, cascades gracefully on the sloping terrain.
