Prepare for an awe-inspiring display of oversized vegetables and extravagant floral artistry as the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show prepares to make its triumphant return.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Newby Hall and Gardens, this horticultural extravaganza is scheduled to run from Friday, September 15, to Sunday, September 17, with an estimated 30,000 visitors expected to grace the event over the course of three days.
The inaugural day of the 2023 show, hosted at one of England’s most illustrious stately homes, coincides with the birthday of the renowned British crime writer, Agatha Christie. In honor of this occasion, “The Blooms of Deception” will be unveiled—a captivating floral exhibition inspired by Christie’s tales of intrigue and suspense.
Within the opulent chambers of Newby Hall, a Grade I listed gem, a captivating floral narrative, evoking the essence of a murder mystery novel, will unfold. Esteemed florists, including the celebrity floral designer Jonathan Moseley and the award-winning florist Helen James, will craft enigmatic floral installations portraying book titles inspired by crime fiction, the world of horticulture, and the enchanting ambiance of Newby Hall.
Visitors will be transported into a world of floral mystery, guided by the illustrious Detective Rufus Smythe.
Additional highlights of the forthcoming Harrogate Autumn Flower Show encompass:
A sprawling Landscape Installation, covering 1,000 square meters, on the grounds between Newby Hall’s architectural grandeur and the scenic backdrop of the river Ure. This creation, a collaboration between Landmark Collective and Yorkshire Gardens Trust, will feature a colossal map of Yorkshire.
