The Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination (GRACE), Inc. has recently concluded its 20th Annual Walk With GRACE event, marking a milestone year for fundraising efforts. This year’s fundraising achievement has surpassed all previous records. Among the various annual fundraisers that have played a pivotal role in supporting GRACE, Amy Bindl’s Flower Sales stands out as a consistent source of substantial donations. For the past nine years, Amy has been quietly dedicated to accomplishing remarkable feats in support of GRACE.
Amy’s tireless efforts are typically witnessed by the public twice a year, during the months of May to June and September to October, when she orchestrates spring flower basket and fall mum sales. However, what often goes unnoticed is the extensive preparation and hard work that precedes these sales. Amy has personally invested countless hours and boundless energy into selling these seasonal floral arrangements, with the proceeds dedicated to GRACE’s mission.
In honor of the 20th anniversary of GRACE and her own nine-year commitment, Amy set an ambitious goal for herself. She not only achieved but exceeded it by raising an impressive $25,579.50, which she generously donated to GRACE. Over the course of the past nine years, Amy has raised a remarkable total of over $89,000 through her flower sales in support of GRACE.
Amy’s outstanding dedication and achievement deserve recognition, and she welcomes congratulations from those who cross her path.
It’s essential to acknowledge that major accomplishments like Amy’s are often the result of collective effort. Amy extends her heartfelt gratitude to all those who have assisted her during her nine-year journey. She also expresses her appreciation to the individuals who have purchased flower baskets during the spring and fall sales.
GRACE, a non-profit organization, serves not only Richland County but also the surrounding townships. Their mission encompasses providing financial assistance to individuals currently battling cancer, funding cancer research at institutions like Gunderson Lutheran and UW Carbone Cancer Center, offering grants to the local medical community for cancer-related projects, and actively engaging in public education and awareness efforts focused on cancer prevention.
