EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The University of Southern Indiana’s Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Group is set to host its much-anticipated annual event, Flowers on the Lake, on October 17th at 4:30 PM.
This poignant ceremony, offered as a public service free of charge, is an integral part of recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Its primary purpose is to honor the memory of those who have tragically lost their lives to domestic violence and to promote awareness regarding the telltale signs of relationship abuse.
At the heart of the event, guests are invited to take part in a meaningful gesture as they scatter petals atop the water. This symbolic act is a touching tribute to the survivors of domestic violence and a poignant remembrance of those who are no longer with us.
