Despite the gloomy weather, the owner of a local flower shop in Superior is determined to bring smiles to the faces of people in the community.
Artistic Florals by Leslie has been an active participant in the annual Petal it Forward event for several years. Leslie, the proprietor, dedicated her morning to bestowing two bouquets of flowers upon unsuspecting strangers. One bouquet was intended for the recipient, while the other was meant for them to pass on to someone else.
This generous act is part of a nationwide initiative that takes place every October, with flower shops throughout the United States joining in the spirit of giving.
“Research shows that flowers can significantly reduce stress levels and bring happiness and smiles to people’s faces. I thought it was a wonderful idea to give away complimentary flowers to people on the street to brighten their day,” said Leslie Hietala, owner of Artistic Florals by Leslie.
Artistic Florals by Leslie took their floral mission to the streets of downtown Superior, specifically along Tower Avenue. The flowers distributed on Wednesday included a variety of blooms, such as lilies, carnations, and Viking Poms.
