After an illustrious career spanning over 30 years, Lorna, a cornerstone of Driftwood Flowers & Nursery, has made the heartfelt decision to retire. This momentous step signifies the end of an era, and she takes this opportunity to express her deepest gratitude to those who have been instrumental in her journey.
First and foremost, she extends a warm and special thank you to Dale & Sara Linnes for affording her the opportunity to live out her dream. Dale, in particular, has been an invaluable mentor, and Lorna is profoundly appreciative of the guidance and support he has provided throughout the years. She also extends her gratitude to Islanders/Banner Bank for their unwavering belief in her.
Lorna wishes to convey her heartfelt appreciation to the community that has steadfastly supported her over the years. She cherishes the friendships she has forged within her community, which have been a source of great joy and inspiration. While she anticipates continued interactions, she acknowledges that the landscape will undoubtedly change.
In preparation for her retirement, Ken will be at the Nursery on Saturday and Sunday, November 4th and 5th, to process refunds for any outstanding gift certificates. Unredeemed certificates will be generously donated to local charities, a testament to Lorna’s commitment to giving back.
Additionally, during that weekend, all remaining items in the Nursery will be offered free of charge. This includes furniture, benches, outdoor shelving, the gazebo, all fencing, and miscellaneous items. There will be no reservations or holds, so those interested are encouraged to bring their trucks along.
The sale of the building, housing Driftwood Flowers & Nursery, will also be explored during the weekend. It is important to note that the structure and all decking must be removed within 30 days, with the exception of the weekend of Hops on the Rocks.
In closing, Lorna takes a moment to express her profound gratitude for the wonderful times and experiences she has had throughout her tenure at Driftwood Flowers & Nursery. With deep appreciation, she bows her head in recognition of the support and friendship she has received over the years. Lorna’s retirement marks the end of an era, but it also signifies the beginning of a well-deserved new chapter in her life.
