Ayodhya is gearing up for a grand spectacle as the state government mobilizes over 800 skilled artisans and workers to embellish the city with exotic flowers and decorative plants. The ornate display aims to extend a warm welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to inaugurate the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram airport and partake in a roadshow on December 30.
Artisans adept in the intricate weaving of exotic flowers, marigold, Ashoka leaves, and rose petals have been diligently engaged in the beautification efforts. Skilled workers from various districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Ayodhya, Sitapur, Mathura, Hardoi, Gonda, and Bahraich, along with contributors from West Bengal, are actively participating in this endeavor.
A senior official from the district administration revealed that a substantial order of 1,45,000 quintals of flowers has been placed, set to arrive in the city via 20 trucks on December 29-30. The ordered flowers encompass a diverse range, including dahlia, gerbera, Victoria, sun of India, para grass, manokamini, china leaf, and palm. These will be meticulously arranged to create a vibrant welcome for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The floral display will feature both local and foreign varieties, adorning gates and archways strategically placed along the 8-km long roadshow route. Flowers are being sourced from Kolkata, Kanpur, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune to ensure a diverse and visually stunning presentation.
As part of the elaborate plan, 24 archways will be set up along the stretch between the airport bypass road and Dharam Path. Two key locations, Saket Petrol Pump and Hanumangarhi, will be specially adorned to enhance the overall visual spectacle. During the roadshow, the Prime Minister is set to be showered with petals, adding an extra layer of ceremonial grandeur to the occasion.
