In a collective effort to enhance the natural beauty of Burley Park, volunteers are enthusiastically invited to participate in a special planting morning scheduled for the upcoming Sunday.
On the 21st of January, volunteers will convene in Burley Park to partake in the planting of woodland bulbs, an initiative supported by the dedicated Friends of Burley Park group.
A spokesperson for the event expressed, “Having already adorned the orchard with daffodils, we now seek assistance from local residents to plant bluebells, cyclamen, and wild garlic beneath the towering trees in various sections of the park.”
The invitation extends to all interested parties, encouraging them to join the community effort and connect with fellow locals during the bulb planting session. It is emphasized that participants are not obliged to stay for the entire duration. The organizers will supply the necessary tools and offer guidance on the planting process. Furthermore, complimentary tea and coffee will be provided for all attendees.
The meeting point for this horticultural endeavor is set at the bandstand, where volunteers are encouraged to assemble at 10 a.m. on Sunday, the 21st of January.
This floral initiative has garnered support from Love Leeds Parks and has been made possible through the generous backing of the National Lottery’s Heritage Fund.
