In commemoration of its 30th anniversary, a hospice charity has introduced a breathtaking display of glass flowers.
Forest Holme has unveiled a collection of 1,000 meticulously crafted stained glass fritillaria flowers, now showcased at Merley House in Wimborne.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of notable figures such as The Mayor of Poole, esteemed artist Ellie Drake-Lee, and Dr. Stephen Kirkham, alongside hospice personnel, volunteers, and trustees. This event, generously sponsored by Gallagher Insurance in Poole, marked precisely three decades since Forest Holme Hospice Charity inaugurated its fundraising endeavors to support the then newly established specialist palliative care unit situated at Seldown Road in Poole.
Hannah O’Hare, CEO of Forest Holme, expressed, “The art installation serves as a poignant focal point for reflection and inspiration during our 30th anniversary. It offers an opportunity for our supporters and community members to acquire a unique commemorative piece of art, symbolizing love, loss, and compassion.”
Ellie Drake-Lee, the creative mind behind the project from Glass Garden Art, shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I am deeply honored to contribute to this vibrant celebration of philanthropy. This endeavor holds immense personal and artistic significance for me. Forest Holme has provided tremendous support for this creative venture, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing the display of each of my distinctive glass flowers at Merley House.”
The public is cordially invited to admire the exhibit, which will remain open for viewing free of charge until May 2nd.
