As the curtain draws near on the annual spectacle of The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Village, the renowned Giant Tecolote Ranunculus continues to command attention, albeit graciously sharing its limelight with another natural wonder.
The revered Giant Tecolote Ranunculus, emblematic of The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Village, remains a delightful focal point, even as its resplendent, full-bloom display reached its zenith approximately a month ago.
However, this sprawling 55-acre attraction, open from March’s inception to the celebratory occasion of Mother’s Day, continually unveils new delights, ensuring visitors a perennially captivating experience.
Currently captivating visitors in its waning days is the picturesque “Sea of Sunflowers,” a cherished late-season addition to The Flower Fields.
While these towering, robust blooms may not traverse the expanse like their ranunculus counterparts, their abundance is a sight to behold, covering approximately five acres of the landscape.
This marks the third year of the Sunflower spectacle, strategically positioned to afford glimpses of the distant Pacific Ocean, its azure expanse serving as a serene backdrop to the vibrant hillside hues.
As the season crescendos towards Mother’s Day, a day synonymous with heightened visitation, securing advance reservations is advised, given the attraction’s popularity.
Indeed, advance ticketing is mandatory throughout the operating period, with peak occasions often filling up swiftly.
For those unable to partake in person, an offering of the Mother’s Day Bouquet special, available until May 10, presents an opportunity to share in the floral splendor. Comprising a blend of Alstroemeria, Delphinium, Ranunculus, Ruscus, Solidago, and, of course, Sunflowers, this radiant assortment extends a vibrant salutation from the kaleidoscopic haven of Carlsbad, accompanied by a 10% discount.
